As children we read differently: we are small and the adult world is scary and then we turn a page and — by magic — find ourselves soaring into a limitless universe all on our own.
Children's books have rescued me, nurtured me and inspired me all my life. I wrote my first story when I was eight. It was about a terrier named Buff, and how strange is memory, that I remember my goofy drawing of Buff but nothing of his doggy fate.
I have always wanted to be the kind of writer who can take children down the paths that my favorite authors set me on. I am an award-winning screenwriter and a poet, and I’ve been writing the stories on this site over a period of several years now.
They include manuscripts for a picture book, an early reader, and three middle grade chapter books.
I’m beginning the process of looking for representation, so please take a look. And for all readers, if you read a sample and have thoughts…
I’d love to hear from you!
